Site Controls Energy Services Division Reaches Milestone in Its Automated Demand Response Deployment AUSTIN, TX – November 12, 2007 Site Controls, LLC, a premium provider of enterprise-based clean energy and grid efficiency solutions announced today that its Energy Services division now controls 220 mega-watts (MW) of peak load, with 130 MW characterized as immediately dispatchable. “We are proud that almost 60% of the entire load under our management can immediately be provided to the grid intelligently and automatically. This generation-quality energy resource is available on demand at any time, in a clean carbon-negative fashion,” said Chris Hickman, President of the Energy Services Division. “We are dedicated to providing our customers with integrated load management solutions that allow participation in demand response plans with zero or low consequence to their businesses or distraction to employees and we are grateful for their enthusiastic support that continues to both fuel our rapid growth and facilitate the creation of these valuable grid management resources.” This milestone comes on the heels of the Energy Services division’s success in Southern California during the recent grid emergency. When the grid was threatened as fires knocked out a major transmission line into San Diego, Site Controls automatically managed electrical demand at its customers’ locations within the impacted areas to reduce the strain on the grid by over 3 mega-watt hours. “Through the development of information technology rather than building traditional power plants and transmission lines, we are enabling the Energy Web,” continued Hickman. “This, in turn, will help both consumers and the entire electric value-chain operate more efficiently, at much lower costs, while significantly reducing carbon emissions.” Site Controls has successfully expanded its technology platform beyond energy efficiency and controls into clean energy and intelligent load management. Site Controls’ Energy Services Division has now successfully deployed its solutions in well over a thousand buildings across North America; providing grid intelligence and carbon-negative demand response solutions to the energy economy. Dan Sharplin, CEO, Site Controls, stated, “The energy dilemma facing our society is serious. Over the next 10 years, with the North American electrical demand projected to increase 19% and new generation resources scheduled to increase only 6%, we must look to new technologies to provide clean and commercially-viable products and services that preserve our energy-driven economy. The Site Controls team is proud to be delivering commercial solutions on an international basis today.” # # # # About Site Controls, LLC Contact: Kellie Thomas Catherine Seeds |
